We look forward to welcoming you to this year’s Farnham Walking Festival!

Set across three weeks in May, there is something for everyone – from short strolls around town to 10-mile hikes through the Surrey Hills and everything in between.

All walks are kindly led by experts in their field, providing walks of varying degrees covering the topics of art and creativity, nature and wildlife, history and heritage and walks for health and wellbeing.

Farnham & District Ramblers is one of 485 local groups around the country. They lead approximately 350 – 400 walks per year of varying lengths, at leisurely and moderate paces to suit all ages and abilities. They also organise coach walks, pub walks, breakfast walks and many other social activities throughout the year, including walking/sightseeing holidays. Farnham & District Ramblers are involved in path and countryside maintenance with groups of volunteers working in conjunction with Surrey County Council to repair and replace stiles, gates, finger posts, also getting involved in path clearance and many other tasks to keep our path networks open for enjoyable walking. They use their funds to install kissing gates in place of stiles, which help to make the countryside more accessible for all. They also make donations to causes such as the Elstead Common Restoration Fund (after the devastating fire a few years ago). As a visitor, if you wish to join a Farnham & District Ramblers walk do make sure you are fit enough for the pace and terrain and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk. Dogs on leads are welcome on most walks. You can contact Farnham & District Ramblers Group or the leader if in doubt – farnhamramblers.org.uk/walks‑programme.html.
