Community grants
Who can apply
Farnham’s community grants are available to any not-for-profit organisation. The grants are for one-off projects or schemes that require funding for up to three years.
Grant criteria
You will need to demonstrate how the project will promote the environment and/or community life for residents who live in Farnham and the town’s villages. See the Community grants policy and guidelines before you complete an application.
Grant limit
Grants of up to £2,500 can be applied for once a year.
What can be funded
We will consider applications for:
- youth facilities
- cultural and arts schemes
- heritage projects
- leisure, sport and play facilities
- community buildings
- village halls
- community transport
- projects that support older people and/or people with a disability, and
- sustainable community environmental projects
When to apply
The main application window for grant funding in 2026/27 is now closed, however there is scope for some new grant applications to be considered by the Council throughout the year.
The next opportunity to consider a grant application is at the Community & Wellbeing Working Group meeting is on 24th September 2026.
For the application to be considered, it should be submitted no later than midday on 21st August 2026.

How applications are assessed
Members of the Community & Wellbeing Working Group consider all applications for grant funding. The Working Group make recommendations to go before Full Council for a final decision.
When are grant payments paid
The first tranche of grant payments were made in May 2026.
