Farnham is all set to serve up a feast this September
Food lovers will get their fill this September with the arrival of Farnham’s Food Month which will culminate on Sunday 27 September with the return of Farnham Food Festival and the monthly Farmers’ Market.
Now in its eighteenth year, Farnham Food Festival has grown into one of the town’s most popular annual events, attracting thousands of visitors and showcasing the very best of local food and drink. This September, Make it Farnham, Farnham’s Business Improvement District (BID) and Gold sponsor of Farnham Food Festival, is launching Taste of Farnham, a month-long celebration of the town’s thriving food and drink scene. The campaign includes an illustrated food and drink map detailing participating food and drink businesses from the BID.
Speaking about the initiative Gemma McBride from Make it Farnham says: “Throughout September, we’re inviting residents and visitors to discover Farnham’s cafés, restaurants, pubs, bars and independent food businesses through special promotions, events and seasonal menus. Follow Make it Farnham on social media to be the first to find out what is happening.”
Councillor Kika Mirylees, Lead Member for Culture and Business adds: “Farnham Food Festival has gone from strength to strength and has become one of the highlights of our events calendar. Its success has inspired this exciting partnership with Make it Farnham, enabling us to celebrate our outstanding food and drink businesses for an entire month. Food Month is a fantastic opportunity to experience what makes Farnham such a great place to eat, drink and spend time and we are grateful to all our sponsors for making this possible.”
At this year’s Food Festival, visitors can explore more than 100 food and drink stalls in the festival’s new location at Brightwells Yard plus The Borough, East Street and the Bush Hotel Courtyard.

Our courtyard off The Borough is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle, where visitors can enjoy live music, an alfresco drink and a delicious curry cooked by Chef Anthony.”
Alongside an impressive array of food and drink stalls, Brightwells Yard will host the popular cookery demonstration stage where talented chefs will share recipes, cooking tips and inspiration throughout the day.

Getting to this year’s festival couldn’t be easier. A free hoppa bus service will operate between 10am and 4.30pm, running every 15 to 20 minutes across Farnham and dropping visitors at the festival. Free parking will also be available in Waverley’s pay and display car parks.
