The Goldsmiths’ Centre at New Ashgate Gallery: Crafted in Colour
New Ashgate Gallery presents a summer jewellery exhibition in partnership with the Goldsmiths’ Centre, showcasing selected early-career makers from the Centre’s alumni network.
The exhibition celebrates contemporary jewellery through bold colour, refined design, and exceptional making. Expect jewellery that uses stones and colour-led materials in fresh, confident ways. The selection spans wearable everyday pieces, small editions, and statement work, offering collectors and gift buyers a rare chance to discover emerging UK makers in one place outside London. With a focus on craftsmanship, originality, and strong visual impact, Crafted in Colour is a highlight of Farnham’s summer cultural programme.
The makers are Deborah Beck, Heather Blake, Xinyi Chen, Alice Fry, Roxanne Gilbert, Iona Hall, Emma Lawrence, Cara Lowe, Misha McLean, Poppy Norton, Will Sharp, Charlotte Smith, Katie Watson and Niamh Wright.
Each of the participants has taken part in the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s Shine programme. Shine is an annual, free, four-month part-time programme for UK-based early-career designer-makers. It supports participants to present, sell and showcase their jewellery or silversmithing collections with guidance from industry experts.
The Goldsmiths’ Centre in Farringdon, London, is an independent charity founded by the Goldsmiths’ Company and funded by the Goldsmiths’ Foundation. It supports the jewellery and silversmithing industry to embrace learning as a lifelong practice. Through technical courses and business support, funding opportunities, events and exhibitions, it aims to close the industry’s skills gap, so that creativity, craftsmanship and community can thrive.
