Make It Farnham invests £10,000 in Farnham’s major community events
Farnham Town Council is delighted to announce that Make it Farnham, the Farnham Business Improvement District (BID) which represents over 460 local levy-paying businesses, has pledged £10,000 towards supporting and adding value to a package of popular community events.
The sponsorship demonstrates the BID’s continued investment in initiatives that drive footfall, support local businesses and strengthen Farnham’s reputation as a vibrant place to visit, shop, eat and do business.
Events which are set to benefit from the BID’s collaboration with Farnham Town Council include the Food Festival in September, Craft Month in October, the Christmas Market in December and Farnham Literary Festival in March. All four events attract thousands of visitors from Farnham and the wider area, creating valuable opportunities for local businesses across the town. The investment also includes Farnham in Bloom which enhances the town centre with attractive floral displays all year-round.
Councillor George Murray, Leader of Farnham Town Council says: “We are incredibly grateful to the Farnham BID for working with us on events which feature as highlights in the town’s calendar. These events bring residents and visitors together while showcasing everything that makes Farnham special. As Gold sponsor of four initiatives and Principal sponsor of Craft Month, the BID’s contribution will support the delivery of a package of high-quality events that celebrate Farnham’s community, culture and businesses throughout the year.”
By sponsoring Farnham’s major events, the BID is helping to encourage people to spend more time in the town, increasing visitor numbers, boosting local spending and contributing to a thriving trading environment.
Gemma McBride, Chair of Farnham BID, says: “Our role is to invest in initiatives that deliver value for our levy-paying businesses. Supporting these events is about creating opportunities for businesses to benefit from increased footfall, encouraging people to visit Farnham, spend time here and support our local economy. We are proud to work in partnership with Farnham Town Council to strengthen Farnham’s position as a thriving business location and look forward to being part of what promises to be another successful programme of events.”
