Make it a night to remember at Farnham’s historic Venison Dinner

A Farnham tradition which began in 1605 is set to return on Friday 13 November, and for the first time guests can make an even more memorable occasion of the Venison Dinner by taking advantage of a special overnight stay in Farnham package.

Held at The Bush Hotel, the annual Venison Dinner brings together residents, businesses and visitors for an evening of fine dining, convivial company and entertainment. Guests will enjoy a five-course dinner, wine on the table and entertaining after-dinner speakers in the elegant surroundings of one of Farnham’s most historic venues.

To encourage guests to relax and enjoy the evening without the journey home, Farnham Town Council has partnered with the Bush Hotel to offer an exclusive overnight package. Bed and breakfast is available from £150 per room, based on two people sharing a classic double room. Alternatively, guests can book a combined package including the overnight stay and Venison Dinner for £340. Those wishing to take advantage of the offer should contact Carol Hutton at the Bush Hotel and quote ‘Venison Dinner’ when making their booking.

The Venison Dinner has its roots in a centuries-old Farnham tradition. It began over 400 years ago as a way to stop townsfolk from poaching deer from Farnham Park. Over the centuries, the event has evolved into one of Farnham’s most distinctive civic occasions. Councillor Graham White, Mayor of Farnham, says: “The Venison Dinner is a wonderful celebration of Farnham’s heritage and one of the highlights of our civic calendar. It is an evening that brings people together to enjoy excellent food, great company and plenty of laughter and you can turn a special evening into a relaxing getaway in the heart of our beautiful market town with a special overnight package.”
