Farnham’s third Lantern Festival will take place on Saturday October 31st  2026. The inspiration for the Festival is the significant Celtic celebration which marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, taking stock of the past and looking forward to the future.

The Festival will start from 5.00pm with an outdoor gathering of all the participants with their lanterns on Gostrey Meadow, to enjoy live music and the opportunity to see everyone’s creations on the last day of Farnham Craft Month. We will then set off at 6.30pm to walk with our lighted lanterns to St Andrew’s Church, where the lanterns will be displayed as a large-scale communal craft endeavour.

Community groups, faith groups, care homes, pubs, clubs, schools and informal groups of friends are all encouraged to take part.

Lantern kits will be available to purchase from Farnham Town Council on South Street, later in the year.
