A community centre in the heart of the community in North Farnham, providing activities in response to the needs of the community. Activities include a youth centre for 11-19 year olds, a community cupboard and fridge, a community garden, Warm Hub sessions, craft activities, a seniors club, support for those with mental health issues, a Community Pop-Up Café and much more.
Community Fridge & Cupboard
The Community Fridge & Cupboard was launched in August 2020 and is a great way of reducing food waste, bringing people together and supporting the local community. A team of volunteers collect surplus food and household items from 11 local supermarkets, things that would otherwise go to landfill, and make it available for members of the local community at 3 sessions a week. Please check the Facebook page for current opening times https://www.facebook.com/halecommunityfridgeandcupboard
Due to huge increases in demand and reductions in donations from supermarkets, there are now limitations on who can access the Fridge & Cupboard – the Centre prioritises people who live locally.
Community Pop-Up Café; connecting the community
If the hustle and bustle isn’t your cup of tea, you can take a moment to relax in the new lounge area. Ideal for a moment of quiet, or if a safe space is needed to take some rest. For SEN the Centre also offers this area as a sensory space.
