Bloomin’ Kids’ Gardening Workshops return this Easter holiday
Farnham Town Council’s Bloomin’ Kids Gardening Workshops are set to return this Easter, offering young people aged 4-11 the chance to explore nature, learn new skills, and enjoy creative seasonal activities.
The workshops will be held at Badshot Lea Kiln on 7 April and Hale Community Centre on 9 April. When booking, families can choose whether to attend a morning or afternoon session.
Aspiring young gardeners will be able to sow seeds, plant vegetables and bulbs, and take part in spring-themed arts and crafts. Alongside these activities, children will learn fascinating gardening facts and develop practical skills from volunteers from Badshot Lea Bloomers and Farnham in Bloom. In addition, Surrey Wildlife Trust will run an activity themed around water conservation at the Hale workshops.
Farnham Town Clerk, Iain Lynch says: “We’re delighted to offer these workshops as a way to connect children with nature in a fun and engaging way. Gardening is such a valuable skill, and thanks to the expertise and enthusiasm of our volunteers, the workshops will be hands-on and creative which we hope will spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of gardeners to enjoy the outdoors and learn how things grow.”
Tickets cost £5 per child to cover the cost of materials and venue hire. For families with four or more children, the charge will be capped at £15. Booking links to Eventbrite can be found at www.farnham.gov.uk.
