Help get Farnham ready for Remembrance Sunday
Farnham Town Council is calling on residents to roll up their sleeves and join the Bloomin’ Litter Pick on Saturday 8 November from 10am–12pm.
Volunteers will meet at Farnham Town Hall on South Street before setting out to give the town centre a good tidy-up ahead of the next day’s Remembrance Sunday parade and service in Gostrey Meadow. All litter-picking equipment will be provided – participants just need to bring their enthusiasm and community spirit.
After the hard work, everyone is invited back for some well-earned refreshments (including cake!) as a thank-you for helping to keep Farnham clean, welcoming, and parade-ready.
Councillor Mat Brown, Lead Member for Environment says: “The Bloomin’ Litter Pick is a simple but powerful way for local people to make a difference. It’s about taking pride in our town, meeting new people, and working together to keep Farnham looking its best.”
The event forms part of the Farnham in Bloom initiative, which encourages year-round community participation and environmental care.
Anyone wishing to take part is asked to register by emailing [email protected].
Volunteers are also encouraged to clean up around the war memorials in Hale, Rowledge, Badshot Lea, the Bourne and Wrecclesham.
