New Hospital hoppa service for Farnham
Door-to-door transport to Frimley Park Hospital, the Royal Surrey and many other medical establishments.
A new door-to-door hospital transport service has been launched in Farnham, with the aim of making it easier for local residents to attend medical appointments.
Hospital hoppa for Farnham is a community transport initiative offering affordable, accessible journeys from people’s homes to:
- Frimley Park Hospital
- Farnham Hospital
- Aldershot Centre for Health
- Clare Park Hospital, Farnham
- Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford
- St Luke’s, Guildford
- Mount Alvernia, Guildford
- The Jarvis Centre, Guildford
- Local GP surgeries
- Any other healthcare facility between Farnham and Guildford or Farnham and Frimley.
This vital service is available to anyone living in Farnham and the surrounding villages, including Badshot Lea, Upper Hale, Dippenhall, Wrecclesham, Rowledge, Spreakly, Frensham, Dockenfield, Rushmoor, Tilford, The Bourne and Runfold.
The service has been made possible thanks to support from Greg Stafford MP and funding from Farnham Town Council, Waverley Borough Council, The Dempster Trust, and Farnham Hedgehogs, who together have secured the service for an initial six-month period.
Richard Davies, General Manager at hoppa says: “Hospital hoppa for Farnham brings the town in line with the rest of the borough, where similar services have already proven their value. For many people, getting to Frimley Park Hospital without a car means travelling on at least two buses which takes over an hour or paying over £50 for a return taxi journey. This service fills a real gap and will make a big difference in improving access to healthcare for residents.”
A one-way journey on Hospital hoppa for Farnham costs £7.50, with a reduced fare of £2.50 for carers or companions.
To use the service, residents must first register via www.hoppa.org.uk/register or call 01428 681701. Once registered, bookings can be made by phone on the same number.
