Join Mslexia prize-winning poet Nia Broomhall to create poetry that explores the unique story of who you are

Join Mslexia prize-winning poet Nia Broomhall to create poetry that explores the unique story of who you are. In this practical two hour session, we will read and discuss poems to inspire your own writing in a warm and supportive environment, and you’ll leave with three or four first drafts. Beginners and seasoned poets all welcome!

Nia Broomhall is an award-winning poet based in Farnham. She holds an MA with distinction in Creative Writing and is Poet in Residence at Painshill Park in Cobham, as well as running a Poetry for Wellbeing group and poetry nights at the West End Centre in Aldershot. Her poetry pamphlet ‘Backalong’ won the Mslexia Women’s Poetry Prize and was published by Bloodaxe Books in 2024. Currently co-Head of English at a comprehensive school, the best hour of her week is Poetry Club on a Friday afternoon. She comes from a long line of West Country women who talk to strangers and embarrass their children.
