“I first saw the name of the band Gatehouse on a poster in Matt Molloy’s pub in Westport, County Mayo several years ago. Intrigued, I set out about finding out more about them and liked what I heard very much. However, it became quite a quest to finally book them; unreliable agents, the need for several bookings in order to make a trip over from Ireland viable…but finally, they are here!”

If you’re looking for music that captures the soul of Ireland, look no further than Gatehouse. With a line up that includes Rachel Garvey (Vocals), Jacinta McEvoy, (guitar and concertina) John McEvoy (fiddle and Mandola), and John Wynne, (flute and whistles), this talented group skilfully blend the rich traditions of Irish music with their own unique sound. Listen to “The Gypsies” here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tw_XGvrQqIc&list=RDTw_XGvrQqIc&start_radio=1

What sets Gatehouse apart, is their ability to seamlessly weave together haunting melodies and rousing instrumentals. The interplay of flute and fiddle, paired with Rachel’s captivating voice and Jacinta’s sensitive guitar, creates a dynamic mix that’s both exciting and evocative, captivating audiences from the first note.

Gatehouse released their debut album, “Tús Nua”, in 2016 to widespread acclaim. Their second album, “Heather Down the Moor”, released in 2019, further solidified their place in the world of traditional Irish music and they are now one of the most sought-after bands on the traditional music scene. Gatehouse have been invited to perform at a number of prestigious festivals such as ‘The Trip to Birmingham Festival, the Return to London Town, The Copenhagen Irish Festival, The Førde Traditional and World Music Festival, Norway, Celta Catalunya, Spain, The Irish Festival of Oulu, Finland, and Celtic Connections, among others.
Whether performing at venues across Ireland, the UK, or Europe, Gatehouse have built a loyal following, delivering performances that are authentic, passionate and heartfelt.
Their music is a compelling invitation to experience the essence of the Irish tradition.

Don’t miss the chance to hear Gatehouse live – it’s an experience you won’t forget.
