Grants

Information about financial support available to local not‑for‑profit organisations and individuals.

Farnham Town Council provides vital financial support to local not‑for‑profit organisations and individuals, aiming to enrich community life, protect the environment, and support those in need.

The flagship Community Grants programme offers one‑off awards of up to £2,500 to groups delivering projects in areas such as youth facilities, cultural and heritage schemes, sports and leisure, community buildings, accessible services for older or disabled residents, and sustainable environmental initiatives. Funding decisions are guided by clear criteria, including the project’s benefit to Farnham residents and environmental impact. Applications are reviewed annually by the Council’s Strategy & Resources committee, with payments typically disbursed in May.

Complementing this, the South Street Trust supports art‑based educational activities across Farnham—especially visual art projects in schools and community venues. Around 25 grants are made each cycle, supporting clay‑modelling workshops, sculpture commissions, and school-led creative initiatives. Additionally, the Council offers targeted financial support for individuals and families in urgent need—including no‑interest loans (under the NILS scheme), the Farnham Support Fund, and household essentials grants to help with urgent expenses like utilities or essential appliances.

No matter your idea or need—whether you’re planning a community project, seeking creative education funding, or require immediate personal support—the Town Council’s Grants section guides you through who can apply, what can be funded, key deadlines, and how to submit a strong application. Explore the options and find out how Farnham Town Council can help bring your plans to life.
