Secret garden competition

The competition takes place in spring/summer and is open to businesses, residents and schools in Farnham and its surrounding villages of Badshot Lea, The Bourne, Boundstone, Frensham, Hale, Heath End, Moor Park, Rowledge, Weybourne, Wrecclesham and Bucks Horn Oak.

Activities for schools

Every year many Farnham schools take part in Farnham in Bloom. Schools can get involved in a variety of activities such as the schools’ hanging basket competition, the best school garden in the Secret Gardens competition, growing the tallest sunflower and biggest pumpkin.

How to grow from seed

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and have some fun in the garden! Our video series for children shows how easy it is to plant seeds, grow potatoes, and more. Each step is simple to follow, and whether you are growing in a garden, on a balcony, or in pots, these videos are the perfect way to learn and discover the joy of growing your own food and flowers.

Bloomin’ litter picks

Throughout the year we organise community litter picks in the town centre. Volunteers are equipped with litter pickers, black sacks, gloves and high visibility jackets.

We also support residents and businesses that would like to litter pick an area of their choice.

Bloomin’ Kids’ Gardening Workshops

Free gardening workshops for children aged five and over. The workshops take place during the Easter and October half term holidays. They are run by volunteers and include two hours of garden and nature-based craft activities.
