Get involved in Farnham in Bloom

Two scarecrows in middle of allotment.

The ways residents, schools and businesses can get involved in Farnham in Bloom.

Secret garden competition

The competition takes place in spring/summer and is open to businesses, residents and schools in Farnham and its surrounding villages of Badshot Lea, The Bourne, Boundstone, Frensham, Hale, Heath End, Moor Park, Rowledge, Weybourne, Wrecclesham and Bucks Horn Oak.

Allotment competition

Allotment holders can take part in the annual scarecrow competition which is sponsored by Squire’s Garden Centre.

Scarecrows should be located on your allotment plot and can be traditional or contemporary in their design.

The scarecrows are judged in May by the Farnham Town Mayor. You do not need to be present for the judging.

Sponsor a floral display

We offer sponsorship packages to suit all budgets. See our sponsorship brochure for full details and prices.

Christmas celebration

Every December the Fanham in Bloom community group holds a carol concert on Gostrey Meadow. Everybody gathers around the bandstand to sing carols and enjoy a warming drink.

Once the date for the next celebration has been confirmed, you will be able to find details on our events calendar.

Community group

The Farnham in Bloom community group is made up of residents and businesses who contribute a great deal of time and effort to the town’s entry into South and South East in Bloom. The group is chaired by a volunteer and meets regularly to take part in projects such as:

  • planting trees and bulbs
  • tidying up areas
  • litter picks
  • creating wildlife havens
  • small projects

How to join

Anybody is welcome to join the group. There are opportunities to get involved regardless of how much time you have to spare. For more information you can contact us using the details on this page.
