Dozens of local businesses and individuals supporting Farnham in Bloom 2017 are being recognised on two brand-new sponsor boards outside Sainsbury’s in South Street, Farnham. The boards were revealed on Friday (23 June) and are located in a prominent position in the town centre so that it is easy for shoppers and residents to see the many local shops, companies and individuals who are supporting Farnham in Bloom this year.

The second of the sponsor boards has been dedicated to those who have sponsored a hanging basket or trough to mark a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary or even to remember a special friend or relative.

“Community involvement is at the heart of Farnham in Bloom and the level of support and commitment from our business community is very much evident when you see the number of shops, traders and local services who are contributing to this year’s project,” says Councillor Stephen Hill, Lead Member for Community Enhancement. “Farnham in Bloom simply couldn’t happen without the sponsorship and gifts in kind from the numerous local businesses – large and small – supporting it. Do take a look at the board when you are next in town; you will see many, many familiar names as you look through the list.”

“Being corporate sponsor of Farnham in Bloom 2017 has made all of us at Specsavers feel very much part of the town,” explains Lateef Iqbal store director from Specsavers in Farnham. “Our customers tell us how much pleasure Farnham in Bloom brings them so being associated with such a popular local initiative is a wonderful way for us to give something back to the town and to our customers. This is our first year as corporate sponsor and I have been impressed with the many ways businesses can get involved as sponsors.”

Activity for this year’s Farnham in Bloom – which will see the town centre, surrounding locations and nearby villages being transformed with stunning floral displays, innovative planting schemes and creative gardening related initiatives – is well underway. The project is organised by Farnham Town Council in partnership with the Farnham in Bloom Community Group, sponsors and volunteers.

Farnham is entering the South and South East in Bloom awards this year, having previously scooped multiple awards, and has been invited to enter Britain in Bloom in 2017 as well.

Farnham Town Council would like to thank all the individual businesses that have sponsored Farnham in Bloom and especially the main sponsors which include: Corporate Sponsor, Specsavers Farnham; Gold sponsors, The Farnham Institute, The Patio Black Spot Removal Company Ltd, Squire’s Garden Centre, Forest Lodge Garden Centre, Wild Flower Turf Ltd and Graduate Landscapes and Silver sponsors, Aura Care Living, BBS Ltd and Net Technical Solutions.
