Creativity Unwrapped is the theme for this year’s Heritage Open Days. The Farnham Society has organised a wonderful programme which will give visitors a chance to see behind the scenes of some of the finest buildings in England’s first World Craft Town.

Heritage Open Days includes open buildings, guided walks and talks.

Farnham Town Council is pleased to support Heritage Open Days and to provide the venue for the following events:

‘Two Great Illustrators, Randolph Caldecott and Pauline Baynes’ – a talk by Roy Waight. No booking required

Saturday 9 September. 10.30am at Farnham Town Hall, South Street

The artist Randolph Caldecott, 1846-1886, essentially originated children’s book illustration. He lived for the latter part of life in Frensham. A century later Pauline Baynes, illustrator for C.S. Lewis’s Narnia series and J. R. R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings lived just a mile away.
