Saturday 29 June 2019 - 14.00 - 21.00

Gostrey Meadow

Farnham has held a Carnival for nearly 100 years and this year is no exception. The theme of the Carnival for 2019 is “Fly me to the Moon” to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of men landing on the Moon. Fun starts with the Fayre in Gostrey Meadow on Saturday 29th June 2019 at 2pm and continues until 9pm. While away the hours enjoying the fun fair, stalls, live bands, food and bar whilst waiting for the Parade to start at 6pm from Upper Hart Car Park and thread its way round Farnham’s town centre. Come line the pavements and cheer loudly as the floats go by. Over 50 entries representing local schools, charities, clubs and businesses took part in 2018. If you are a local organisation or business, you could boost your profile in the area by entering the Parade and you’ll be seen by the thousands of people that line the streets of Farnham on Carnival Day. Alternatively promote your business by reserving a pitch at the Fayre in Gostrey Meadow.

The Carnival is planned, organised and run entirely by volunteers from the local community, without whom the event could not take place. Have you thought of assisting on the organising committee and contributing to the planning of the event which starts months in advance of the Carnival day? Or perhaps joining our friendly teams of like minded residents who work on the day to make Farnham Carnival the fantastic event it is for all the town’s inhabitants?

On the day our work is generally organised into two-hour shifts, however volunteers arrange to devote as much or as little time as they feel able. There are no particular requirements other than enthusiasm, but if you have some expertise or knowledge that you think would be helpful, please get in touch. All offers of help are gratefully received and will be acknowledged. Please email us at or visit our website
