Farnham Town Council has launched a new improved website and is seeking input from local organisations and business to make it an even more useful source of information.

The new site features a what’s on calendar which local groups and organisations can use to promote their events. The website also has a ‘Directory of Farnham’ which includes contact information and details for local businesses, groups, organisations, charities and venues to hire. Advertising an event or appearing in the directory is offered free of charge.

Councillor John Ward, Leader of Farnham Town Council says: “Last summer we carried out a survey and held some focus groups to find out what people wanted from Farnham Town Council’s website. Top of the list was information about things to do followed by shopping, news, details about local groups and roadworks. This information helped to inform the structure and design of the website and visitors will now find links to these key areas from the home page of the site. The site looks very fresh and includes some great photos of Farnham taken by local people.

“The site is in its infancy and we want to continue to develop and improve it. I would like to invite residents to take a look and to send us their feedback via the online comments form. The address is www.farnham.gov.uk.”

As well as providing details about living and visiting Farnham, the site includes information about Farnham Town Council, its services and contacts for local councillors. There is also a useful A-Z of services which helps to direct people to the right council for their query.
