The event took place on Monday 23 June at Farnham Town Hall, where the Armed Forces Flag was raised in honour of the nation’s servicemen and women.

Pupils from All Saints Tilford, Badshot Lea Infant School and The Ridgeway School ably assisted in the ceremony, showing their respect and support for the Armed Forces community.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from organisations including the Army Benevolent Fund, Farnham Branch of The Queen’s & PWRR Regimental Association, the Farnham Branch of the Royal British Legion, Farnham Lions, Farnham Town Crier, Farnham U3AThe Farnham Society, University for the Creative Arts, and past Mayors.

Thanking everybody who attended, the Mayor said: “It is a privilege to pay tribute to the men and women who serve and have served in our Armed Forces. I am especially pleased to see young people from our schools taking part in this important occasion.”

The flag will fly throughout Armed Forces Week as a visible reminder of Farnham’s support for the Armed Forces community.
