Kids discover the joy of nature

Over 100 children learned about the importance of nature and the environment at the Bloomin’ Kids Gardening Workshops this Easter.

The free workshops, which were organised by Farnham Town Council gave children the opportunity to plant an onion set and sow sunflower and sweet pea seeds. The youngsters also created bee and pollination inspired art.

Iain Lynch, Town Clerk at Farnham Town Council said: “The workshops were designed to engage children in hands-on learning experiences by encouraging them to explore their creativity and connect with the natural world. The children took home what they planted so that in a few weeks they will hopefully be able to enjoy seeing their flowers bloom and harvest a home-grown onion!”

The success of the Easter workshops would not have been possible without the hard work of volunteers from Farnham in Bloom. The volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure each child received a memorable experience and went home with an even greater love of nature.
