Farnham Town Council thanks Farnham’s volunteers

Farnham Town Council joined the closing celebration of Volunteers’ Week to say a huge thank you to its incredible volunteers and to recognise how their contribution makes Farnham a greater place to live.

In a year where the community has been faced with the challenges of lockdowns and government restrictions, Farnham’s volunteers have risen to the occasion and helped Farnham be stronger and more resilient.

The Mayor of Farnham, Councillor Alan Earwaker said: “Over the past year or so, I have seen some wonderful, selfless acts of volunteering. Over 200 people have volunteered to work on the roll-out of the vaccine at Farnham Hospital while others have helped their neighbours by collecting prescriptions, shopping and offering companionship.

“Throughout the pandemic, we have also seen great dedication from a loyal band of volunteers who help make Farnham bloom. Our family of Bloomin’ volunteers have nurtured plants for the town’s displays and taken part in litter picks. I am grateful to each and every one of our amazing volunteers and, as we begin to emerge from the pandemic, I am thankful for the opportunity to work with the community to help with revival of Farnham.”
