The Mayor’s Charity Variety Show raised hundreds of pounds for local charities last weekend (Saturday 14 March) with a packed bill of entertainers at Crondall Village Hall.

Part way through the evening, the audience enjoyed a fish and chip supper with a chocolate ice cream to follow.

The Mayor of Farnham, Councillor Pat Evans, who hosted the evening says: “This is the first time we have held a variety show and what a fantastic success it was. It was a wonderful evening for the local community to be together and all profits will go to my two chosen charities, Space2grow and Hale Community Centre.”

Taking into account ticket sales, bar and raffle, the evening raised £1,000 for the two charities.

The line-up included songs from Shuffletunes community choir, live music and comedy from Geoff Hiscott and a performance from the highly talented Carrington Family Ensemble. Also included were the former Farnham Town Crier, Jonathan Jones, stand-up comedy from Tommy Connors and Musical Theatre performances from young people’s group Theatre Rocket. The evening concluded with a ‘sing-along’ led by Sue Lampard and Geoff Hiscott.

As well as paying tribute to all the performers, the Mayor thanked the team from Crondall Village Hall, Simon Alexander the Stage Manager and Sue Lampard for organising the entertainment programme for a great event.
