Gin Festival tickets go on sale

Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday 1 May for this September’s Gin festival and it promises to be even bigger and better.

At the launch of the Gin Festival on 23 April, The Wheatsheaf served up a St George’s Day gin cocktail for guests. The Mayor of Farnham Cllr Mike Hodge welcomed guests and revealed that the popularity of last year’s event means the 2018 festival, which is being held in partnership with The Wheatsheaf, will run for two days.

Tickets are priced at £12 which includes admission to the festival as well as a complimentary Fever Tree tonic and a souvenir glass.

Councillor Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “Last year, we saw a really high demand for tickets. It is with thanks to the support of The Wheatsheaf and our sponsors Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society and Andrew Lodge Estate Agents that we have been able to respond to people’s interest by planning an event that will be bigger and better.

“We will have full access to the Farnham Maltings which means we will be able to accommodate more people and increase the number of gin distillers. To add to the atmosphere, we will be putting on live music, a photo booth, free talks by gin experts plus plenty of samples for people to try. However, we will be mindful of ensuring that the event maintains the friendly atmosphere and intimate community feel that was so enjoyed by people last year.”

Gin connoisseurs will be able to sign up for additional masterclasses on a variety of gin-related subjects. The two-day event will take place on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 September and will mark the start of Farnham’s annual Food and Drink Festival.

Tickets are being sold by the Farnham Maltings on behalf of Farnham Town Council. They can be bought from Tuesday 1 May from the Maltings box office by visiting www.farnhammaltings.com or calling 01252 745444.
