Open day is a success

Three females and six males in entrance to greenhouse

Farnham Town Council received a great turnout for its annual greenhouse open day.

Members of the public, the Farnham Gardening Society, sponsors and the Farnham in Bloom Community Group took the opportunity to visit the town centre greenhouses and to see behind the scenes of Farnham in Bloom.

Councillor Stephen Hill, Lead Member for Farnham in Bloom says: “I would like to thank everybody who came along to the open day. Visitors enjoyed a tour of the greenhouses and received a sneak preview of the colour schemes we have planned for the main streets in the town centre. I would also like to say a special thank you to the Farnham Gardening Society for kindly making a donation towards Farnham in Bloom.

Farnham in Bloom is sponsored by Corporate sponsor BBS Ltd. Farnham’s entry into South and South East in Bloom and Britain in Bloom attracts around £20,000 from supporters, which contributes greatly towards the funding of the 17,000 plug plants that are required to fill the 250 hanging baskets, troughs and containers in Farnham and surrounding villages.

Anybody interested in sponsoring a hanging basket or making a donation towards the planting of a container can email lara.prior@farnham.gov.uk.  for more information.
