Farnham Town Council is looking for enthusiastic volunteer walk leaders for this year’s Farnham Walking Festival. You may already have experience of leading walks and have a walk you would like to share with others, or you can choose to guide people on one of the many walks around Farnham.

The festival, which runs from 13 May to 4 June is an opportunity for people to explore the stunning local area on foot, meet new people and learn about the history and heritage of Farnham.

Councillor Kika Mirylees, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “We are inviting applications from anyone interested in leading a walk during the festival. It doesn’t matter if your walk is aimed at seasoned hikers or casual strollers, we welcome walks for all abilities and experience levels. As a walk leader you will need to have a love of walking and a desire to share your knowledge and enthusiasm with others.”

Walk leaders will be responsible for planning and leading a walk, providing information about the route, points of interest and historical significance. It’s a great opportunity to have fun and share your passion for a favourite route. All walks are risk assessed.

If you are interested in becoming a walk leader, please apply by filling in the online application form.
