About Cllr Susan Redfern

In 2011 I retired from my job as Membership Secretary at The Bourne Club and within days I was asked if I would be prepared to stand as a Town Councillor for the Firgrove Ward. I agreed as I felt that this was a great privilege and would give me an opportunity to serve the community and to learn more about Farnham.

I am on the Community Enhancement Working Group which sees me getting very much involved with Farnham in Bloom. We have enjoyed great success over the years and it is good that Farnham in Bloom is so well supported by the people and businesses of the town – this makes it a real community effort.

I am also on the Cemeteries Working Group which I have found most interesting. Farnham Town Council is responsible for five cemeteries and they all have very different environments. They are beautifully tended and full of history.

I have lived in Farnham for 32 years. I have two sons; the elder lives in Sweden and the younger lives in Petersfield and works at Frimley Park Hospital. I love living in Farnham as it is a lovely historical town and although situated in beautiful countryside, it is also within easy reach of London and airports so definitely has the best of both worlds!

In my spare time I enjoy playing and watching tennis, walking and gardening. I am also involved in various activities at St Thomas-on-The Bourne church and Farnham Assist.
