Farnham to Guildford. Chapels & Chalk- A Pilgrimage to Chilworth (#30)
Difficulty: strenuous. Long walk with hills.
Starting point: North Downs Way starting point
Duration: full day, 14 miles
The route. Start of the North Downs Way at the junction of A31 and Station Hill in Farnham, heading into the countryside along the National Trail. You can stop at Puttenham eco barn for refreshments and a quick tour of St John the Baptist and have a longer lunch break at Watts Chapel on Downs Lane.

The walk continues across the Wey Navigation and visits the remains of St Catherine’s Chapel, continuing through the Chantries and up to the Church of St Martha on the Hill to take in the breath taking views over Albury. The final leg passes through Newlands Corner where Agatha Christie staged her disappearance in 1926 and onto Chilworth Gunpowder Mills where our final talk will take place. The walk terminates at the The Percy Arms, Chilworth around 5:30pm.

Trains and buses back to Guildford/ Farnham. Plenty of water and a packed lunch required.
