Good time had by all!

Around 100 children had a blooming good time at the recent Bloomin’ Kids’ Easter Gardening Workshops.

Activities included planting onion sets, peas and a tomato plant, sowing sweet peas and sunflower seeds and Easter-themed crafts.

Iain Lynch, Town Clerk at Farnham Town Council said: “It was wonderful to see all the children having such fun and enjoying gardening outdoors. Thanks to help from Farnham in Bloom volunteers and the Badshot Lea Bloomers, we went right back to basics and had the children getting their hands dirty and connecting with nature and each other.”

The workshops were held at Hale and Badshot Lea. Children who attended Hale enjoyed the added bonus of some water conservation activities hosted by Surrey Wildlife Trust.

The next gardening workshops will be in October half term. To receive details, subscribe to Farnham Town Council’s newsletter at www.farnham.gov.uk.
