Follow these handy tips to help you and your loved ones make the most of winter: – keep warm (heat your home – or a core part of it – to at least 18°c if possible) – re-order repeat prescriptions well in advance of the holiday period –  eat well and drink plenty of fluids (not alcohol!) – get a flu jab (it’s never too late) – wash your hands regularly with soap and water – seek help when you start to feel ill. Call 111, talk to your pharmacist or visit your GP. For serious and life-threatening situations, you should ring 999 or attend A&E.

A first aid or self-care kit can also be used to deal with minor injuries or ailments and reduce the need to visit your doctor or pharmacist.
