10.00-12.30: Reflections and Projections We will explore opportunities, contemporary promotional strategies and gain clarity in relation to your market. We will also explore current, future and forecasted trends. Handouts will be provided and the workshop is suitable for all levels and a range of disciplines, makers, designers, artists and photographers.

Alison Branagan is an author and visual arts consultant and an associate lecturer at Central Saint Martins. Over the last decade she has written several business start-up and enterprise books and has studied different approaches to teaching business theory and enterprise skills. She has also devised and facilitated upon many enterprise projects for universities and business support organisations. She is an Associate of the Institute of Consulting, a Member of the Society of Authors and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. She is also an associate of The Design Trust and has recently been a mentor for the Craft’s Council Hothouse Programme.

13.15-15.30: Networking and Memberships Rebecca will discuss networking, memberships and other activities that may not be in the business plan and she will draw on her knowledge and extensive experience of working with different organisations, groups and individuals.

Rebecca Skeels started her business in 1994 after graduating from the University of Wales. Since 1994, Rebecca’s thirst for knowledge and her passion for sharing has lead her to graduate from Central Saint Martin’s, MA Project by Design and achieving a PGC in Higher Education and is now a research student at the University for Creative Arts.

The event is part of the Surrey Artist of the Year season and celebrating the Farnham Town Month. It is supported by the Patricia Baines Trust.
