Trumpeter Enrico Tomasso (Six-time British jazz awards winner) met Louis Armstrong as a child and brings true affection and a wealth of knowledge to this celebration of the musical union of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. Ella & Louis’s legendary and long-lived musical partnership was full to the brim with love, humour and effortless mastery of their respective instruments. Their duets on songs like “Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off”, “Cheek To Cheek” and “A Fine Romance” became classics.
A lifelong Ella Fitzgerald fan, Joanna Eden has toured her “Embraceable Ella” show all over the world, garnering responses like “bloody marvellous” from Dame Cleo Lane and a standing ovation from Ella’s own archivist Jon Harris of the Smithsonian Institution.
