Grayshott Folk Club welcomes back: Cua

Cua are heading our way again from Laois in Ireland. They last visited us in late November 2019 and their Folk/Americana/Jazz influenced music, their beautiful harmonies and passionate singing, made a big impact on our audience back then so we are delighted to welcome them back to Grayshott at the earliest opportunity. Since releasing their superb “Songs of The Hollow” album in 2019, Irish/Celtic Folk trio Cua have garnered more praise than most, from all sections of the music media. Listen to “The Other Man” from that album here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLX2hVUeeA

Despite being in isolation and unable to perform publicly over the past two years, Cua still managed to write and record new music. Their brand new album “Oh Sun Shine Down” isn’t due for release until the end of April 2022 but it is already catching the attention of those who have heard it and this link to a feature in Folk Radio UK Magazine from 15th March 2022, will take you to a sneak preview of their first single from that album, called “Sunrise” www.folkradio.co.uk/…/video-premiere-cua-sunrise/

“The more you listen the more you hear, the more you hear the more you want to listen. The roots of this music spread wide, anchoring cua like a colossal tree giving them a strength, a rigor and a real presence. Coastal Music looks to the horizon and is music without borders; traditional Folk, Jazz, Classical music, American, Roots music whatever it is…………..it is a vital music. Marc Higgins, Northern Sky Magazine
