New Ashgate Gallery

28 October, 2-3.30pm – free admission, but booking is required at: gallery@newashgate.org.uk Suitable to children from 4 to 10 years with a guardian; max. 8 children.

In the family workshop, we will tell a story featuring the five senses that are inspiration for our piece of artwork. We will explore how to use the five senses to build up layers of interest and create a sensory experience for the participants to explore.

The workshop is led by artist Jennifer Court who explores the five senses in her practice. She uses them to capture a sensory experience of a place or object. Whether it be a still forest or the delicious taste of a piece of fruit, the sensations that she feels ripple down through me and into the work.

All materials will be included and the participants will be guided through different processes to create interesting effects. The workshop is part of the Surrey Artist of the Year season and also celebrating the Farnham Craft Town Month. It is supported by the Patricia Baines Trust.
