RSPB Farnham Heath

Join us in this unique family event as we camp out in nature’s home and sleep beneath the stars, enjoying RSPB Farnham Heath – perhaps as a return camper, or as a newbie – like never before.

You’ll be pitching your own tent (no tents provided!) in a secret meadow, a part of the nature reserve we usually keep closed to the public and where we normally only see or hear wildlife! Whilst you set up your pitch and stoves, we’ll have tea, coffee and soft drinks at the ready to keep you going. Experts will be on hand to help the youngsters discover mini beasts and butterflies while the grown ups cook supper.

As the sun goes down, we’ll have a twilight wander to look for and listen to the creatures that go bump in the night. Make sure you still have some energy left for our nature quiz around the campfire. We’ll set the moth trap to unveil in the morning, then it’s hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows before falling asleep with a spot of stargazing (weather permitting).

Please wear suitable clothes and footwear for this outdoor activity which is held in a meadow deep within our Reserve. The ground will be uneven and possibly damp depending on the prevailing weather at the time. Unfortunately the terrain is not suitable for mobility vehicles or buggies. Please come prepared with protection from biting insects, and bring a torch. Please leave your dog at home on this occasion. We plan to hold this event from Saturday afternoon 31st July to Sunday morning 1st August. The event will be run strictly in accordance with COVID guidelines, so return campers in particular please note the following. No catering will be provided other than drinks as stated Saturday evening and Sunday morning. You will need to bring your own stoves/disposable barbeques and we will provide bricks to support them.

Ticket only event. Advance bookings only.
