Spend a fun afternoon learning to weave with natural rush. You will make a small table mat or coaster. Starting with a checkerboard centre and a pairing weave around the edge, there’s scope for some variation in design. Some of the techniques will be familiar to those who have made willow baskets but there are interesting differences too. Rush is a much softer material so kinder on the hands than willow! The variations in colour give an appealing effect and it also smells gorgeous!

The workshop is part of the Surrey Artist of the Year season and celebrating the Farnham Town Month. It is supported by the Patricia Baines Trust.
