Community events
Farnham Town Council organises events all over the town and
throughout the year, bringing people together, drawing consumers
to the town centre to use local businesses and to address needs in
the community. These range from small activities such as Farnham
in Bloom gardening workshops to large-scale events attracting
thousands of people, like the Food Festival or Christmas lights
switch-on. Most are entirely free or low cost.
Council meetings
Council meetings are largely open to the public and an important
part of democracy. In Farnham, we publish dates, times and agendas
on our website. The meetings are held in the Council Chamber

Mayor
As the town's ambassador, the Mayor of Farnham promotes
and upholds the character of Farnham when he or she meets
representatives from other places and organisations. The Mayor
attends around 300 engagements throughout the year, supporting
community groups and local activities, as well as leading or taking
part in ceremonial and civic duties. The Mayor is elected by Farnham
Town Council each year in May and chooses one or two good
causes to raise funds for.
