Museum of Farnham. Easter – Under the Sea!

5 and 6 April, 10.30am-12.30pm & 1.30pm-3.30pm · £3 per child

Come and join the Museum of Farnham for some fabulous fishy fun with their ‘Under the Sea’ inspired arts and crafts. All materials included. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that you may have to wait if the Garden Gallery is full. For ages 3-7.

Farnham Library – Discover and learn

Minecraft at Farnham Library

This is a fun event giving children aged 8-12 years old an opportunity to play Minecraft in the library with others. Bring your own log-in if you want to play multi-player or they can log you in to create your own world. Wednesday 5 April, 11am – 12.30pm. Tickets £3 each. Please book on Eventbrite

Lego at Farnham Library

Do you like building Lego? Do you like space? Come along to Farnham Library and try out the new Easter holiday Lego club for children aged 5 and over on Thursday 6 April.

The exciting theme for these sessions will be Spectacular Space with an adventure story and building challenges to complete. No instructions, just imagination! Session 1: 10:00am – 11:00am / Session 2: 11:30am – 12:30pm.

Good Friday walk of Witness. Churches Together in Farnham.

Friday 11.45am on 14 April

All Christians are invited to follow the Cross Assemble at the top of The Hart at 11.45am for a silent procession through the streets of Farnham ending with prayers and a hymn at St Andrew’s Church. Participants are invited to carry a palm or other small cross

Easter egg hunt and nature inspired craft

During this Easter half term, join the WWF at the Living Planet Centre for a fun Easter egg hunt in an exciting new WWF wildlife garden. Crack the puzzles to claim your chocolate egg. Takes place Tuesday to Thursday throughout the holidays.

Whilst you’re visiting, why not book one of our fabulous craft sessions too?

Week 1: Tuesday 4 and Thursday 6 April Join the WWF to make spectacular clay spirit animal faces decorated with natural objects.

Week 2: Tuesday 11 and Thursday 13 April Come along to create fun wildlife planters using recycled materials.

Workshops take place in our Learning Zone at 10:15am, 11:00am and 11:45am.  They are free but a donation of £2 per child is appreciated. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Recommended age 4 and over.

Easter trail 

Taking place from 10.00am – 2.00pm, from Tuesday to Thursday. This is an exciting trail where you can explore different habitats to find a variety of clues to solve the puzzle – discover the mystery word to win your prize!

Pirate Week at Birdworld

Monday 10 and Thursday 13 April, 11am – 4pm

Ahoy there! Calling all Pirates!

The Black Pig pirate ship has sailed onto the Safari Lawn and Birdworld has been taken over by pirates for the week. Some of the pirates may even be disguised as staff so make sure you keep your eyes open for them when walking around the park. Those pesky pirates will cause havoc in the park so beware! Join some friendly pirates in the craft tent where you can make some pirate themed crafts from 11am – 4pm. Two for one entry ticket voucher.

Create and Grow at Squire’s Garden Centre

Monday 3 – Friday 21 April, 10am-3.30pm

Plant an Easter Container – Plant a container with beautiful plants and Easter decorations for you to take home and look after – £5.50. Bunny Hunt – Find the names of the hidden bunnies around the centre and receive a large chocolate bunny – £2. Weekdays only, excludes bank holidays. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. These events may take place outside, so please wrap up warm!

Waverley Abbey ruins, Farnham, Surrey, GU9 8EP. Free entry

Waverley Abbey in Surrey was the very first monastery founded in Britain by the reforming Cistercian religious order. A small group of monks from France settled in this quiet spot by the River Wey in 1128, and Waverley soon became the springboard for Cistercian settlement in southern England. The impressive remains include the fine 13th century vaulted refectory or dining hall for the lay brothers, the Cistercians’ labour force. Open during daylight hours.

Including secret camp deep in the woods and fun activities such as den building, fire making, tracking and stalking, mud sculptures, environmental art, whittling, forest games, tree climbing, stream dipping and more. A day out with Thomas this Easter on the Watercress Line

14 -23 April, 9.30am – 5pm All aboard for a Day Out With Thomas!

 Activity Thursday at the Rural Life Centre, 6  and 13 April

A truly brilliant day out for children of all ages. Museum volunteers bring history to life with demonstrations, crafts and fun activities. There are also our usual Step Back Together family activities around the museum. Try your hand as a farm worker, help with the washing ‘Victorian style’, play with vintage toys, have a terrifying lesson in the school room… With so many hands-on activities, children will be kept amused all day.

Activities vary on different days; however, here is a taste of what you might discover:

Learn to make rope from hay Use a yoke to carry buckets Make your own rocket Play on stilts, ride a hobby horse or troll a hoop Explore the giant dolls house Try green wood turning with the bodger Use a water pump, dolly and mangle in the Victorian laundry Tile a roof Meet a Victorian school teacher Use a slate to do your sums Learn to track wildlife Try out a vintage scooter
