October in Farnham means Craft Month. A packed programme of over 50 craft and arts based events gives crafters the opportunity to share their talents and expertise. There is also plenty to tempt those wanting to try a new creative activity or buy handcrafted locally made wares that they can enjoy all year round.
Craft Month embraces creative arts from traditional and countryside crafts through to fine art. Ceramics, metalwork, textiles, printing and photography are just a few of the arts showcased through exhibitions, trails, fairs, workshops and family activities.
A flavour of what’s happening
This year’s October Craft Month includes nine exhibitions and 23 workshops plus festival-style events, outdoor activities and professional development opportunities for creatives looking to generate an income.
Craft is for everyone so workshops welcome both absolute beginners and confident crafters looking to try out a new medium. If you would like to experience working with felt, screen printing, leather work, blocking printing or jewellery making (among others), there is a workshop for you. Or simply combine companionship and creativity at a Knit and Natter session with Farnham Assist.
