Elections

Elections are held every four years. Farnham Town Council’s next election is in May 2027. See the results of the 2023 elections.

Role of a town councillor

A town councillor is elected by the voters who live and work in the ward in which they have chosen to stand.

Town councillors have three main areas of work, which include:

  • Decision-making – attending meetings and deciding what activities to support and how money should be spent.
  • Getting involved locally – Town councillors are on hand at every Farnham Town Council event to support and listen to the community.
  • Monitoring and lobbying – representing community views on all services within the town to make sure that services that are efficient and effective and meet local need, and
