Tasty delights at Farmers’ Market

Cooking sausages. Frying pan.

Stock up on fresh, local produce for the Bank Holiday weekend at this Sunday’s Farnham Farmers’ Market.

Hunts Hill Farm will be cooking their tasty farm made sausages and burgers, which is a great chance for shoppers to try before they buy their own supply to take home and cook on the barbeque.

New stallholder D J Plants will be tempting gardeners with a variety of plants and vegetable plants. Seale Nurseries will be returning with a range of their locally reared roses and plants whilst Pepperpot Herbs will have available a wide variety of herbs to plant and use.

Commenting on the range of food that will be on offer, Councillor Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “One of the delights of eating seasonal produce is that the choice of what to buy is always changing. As we move towards June, we can look forward to enjoying mouth-watering soft fruit such as strawberries and raspberries and crisp salad leaves and sun ripened tomatoes. I also urge shoppers to try the wonderful fish and seafood from Pimpernell fisheries or other fresh fish stalls such as Selsey Willows and Catch.”

This month’s charity tea tent will be hosted by Parkinson’s UK and live music will be played by Patrick Webber. The World Wildlife Fund will also have a charity stall at the market.

The Farmers’ Market is sponsored by Specsavers Farnham. See the Farmers’ Market pages for more information.
