Farnham springs into summer

Taiko drummers watched by a crowd of people

Farnham’s summer programme of events sponsored by Kidd Rapinet got off to a cracking start with the Spring Festival on 26 May.

The Spring Festival is the first event in the town’s summer calendar and paves the way for over three months of free weekly Sunday afternoon entertainment organised by Farnham Town Council.

Tempted by the promise of an afternoon of live music and family entertainment, the Spring Festival was well-attended by Farnham residents and visitors from further afield.

Councillor David Attfield, Mayor of Farnham says: “It was fantastic to see so many people supporting the Spring Festival. The chance to have a go at Taiko drumming proved very popular and I’m reliably informed that it was a lot harder than it looked! The addition of the circus skills area saw both adults and children trying their hand at plate spinning and juggling. It was a pleasure to meet so many Farnham constituents at the Town Council’s information tent and to see people having such a good time.”

Gold sponsor Durham House Chiropractic Clinic had a stall at the Spring Festival and team members were on hand to explain more about the therapies they offer at their clinic in East Street. The Spring Festival was also supported by Hyped Marketing who were a silver sponsor.

Farnham Town Council’s next event is Music in the Meadow on Sunday 16 June from 3-5pm. Harry Strutters Jazz Band will perform jazz, jive and swing and 1stRowledge Rainbows and Guides will host the charity tea tent.
