Partnership working!

Farnham in Bloom has grown a reputation for adding flowers and colour to areas of Farnham that need a little cheering up!

From the replanting of an overgrown flower bed in East Street to the addition of flower displays at Farnham train station, the In Bloom team is always ready to lend a hand and share their expertise.

This year’s appeal for a floral makeover came from Waitrose Farnham. Councillor David Attfield, Mayor of Farnham explains: “The store wanted to spruce up the planting in its outdoor seating area but they were a little unsure about what to plant. We were pleased to offer our assistance and recommended some suitable plants and flowers. We then worked together to plant the containers and to look after them. We were delighted to receive a donation from Waitrose for Farnham in Bloom as this will help us to extend our work to other areas of Farnham.”

Alice Butcher from Community Matters at Waitrose adds: “The flowers are calming shades of pink and purple and the mint and sage have sensory properties too. The planting has vastly improved the seating areas for customers and passers-by. It’s been great to work in partnership with the Farnham in Bloom team and to give a splash of colour at the approach to our store.”
