The RSPB’s Farnham Heath land project, near Tilford will remove 165 hectares (333 acres) of commercial conifer plantation to reveal the original heath that once thrived.
By revealing the heath and preserving the area, it will encourage heath land birds such as Dartford Warblers, Woodlarks and Nightjars.
At present the site has conifer plantations, broadleaved woodland and heathland fragments. Visitors may see Woodlarks, Green Woodpeckers, Blackcaps and Redstarts. Heather and gorse already grow along the paths and clearings.
3 nature trails are weymarked at the Reserve for visitors to follow.
