Music in the Park

On Sunday afternoons throughout the summer months, Gostrey Meadow will become alive with the sound of music.

All concerts will take place between 3pm and 5pm and  there will be a charity tea tent where you will be able to buy drinks and cake, but you will need to bring something comfy to sit on!

Sunday 1 June - Farnham Brass Band

Farnham Brass Band plays a variety of local events with music ranging from popular to classical music, especially from stage and screen. Visit www.farnhambrassband.org.uk for more information.

Sunday 8 June - Harlequin Jazz

A delightful mix of jazz styles to brighten your Sunday afternoon by the river.

Sunday 15 June - Driftwood Jazz

Playing a wide range of jazz and popular standards to keep your feet tapping.

Sunday 22 June - Sounding Brass Quintet

Sounding Brass are back at Gostrey Meadow with another selection of light and entertaining music from their popular repertoire, that is sure to delight audiences on a Sunday afternoon.

Sunday 29 June - Alder Valley Brass

Alder Valley Brass was founded in 1961 by the late George Prior, a fine musician and trombonist from the Rhondda Valley. Alder Valley's repertoire includes Beatles to Beethoven, Cinema Classics, Mozart to Marches and TV themes to the best of brass. Visit www.aldervalleybrass.org.uk for more information.

Sunday 13 July - Herd of Sax

Herd of Sax are a saxophone ensemble group based in West Surrey. Herd of Sax perform a wide range of light and swing style music for local events. The Herd was formed in 2005 and there are 12 players of differing sized saxophones. Visit www.herdofsax.co.uk for more information.

Sunday 20 July - Haslemere Brass Band

Haslemere Town Band is believed to be one of the oldest brass bands in continuous existence, the first evidence being in 1837 when it played for the local celebrations for the coronation of Queen Victoria. Visit www.haslemeretownband.org.uk for more information.

Sunday 27 July - Grandpa Spells Jazz Band

Grandpa Spells is a local dixieland band playing easy listening jazz for all occasions. The band plays popular jazz from the 20s, 30s, and 40s.

Sunday 3 August - Not Just Jazz

Swing, latin, blues and more from these very talented and versatile players.

Sunday 7 September - Farnham Brass Band

Farnham Brass Band was formed in 1975 by Les Graham and his late wife Gwen, with the aim of giving youngsters the opportunity to learn to play brass instruments together. Visit www.farnhambrassband.org.uk for more information.
