The RSPB’s Farnham Heath land project will remove 165 hectares (333) acres of commercial conifer plantation to reveal the original heath that once thrived.
By revealing the heath and the way that the reserve will be looked after, will encourage heath land birds such as Dartford Warblers, Woodlarks and Nightjars.
At present the site has conifer plantations, broadleaved woodland and heathland fragments. You may see Woodlarks, Green Woodpeckers, Blackcaps and Redstarts. Heather and gorse already grow along the paths and clearings.
The site has 3 nature trails that are waymarked and viewpoints are planned for the not too distant future.
