David Beaman - Independent
David Beaman has lived in Farnham since June 2010 having moved from Dorset where for the last 7 years he owned a small bus company. Born in Oldham in 1953 David went to Manchester Grammar School before studying Geography at Newcastle University where he gained a First Class Honours Degree followed by a Masters Degree in Transport Studies at Cranfield University. After leaving University David has spent over 30 years holding various positions in the operation and management of a number of bus companies in both the public and private sectors as well as undertaking a number of overseas assignments.
David has always believed in playing a wider part in the local community and has played an active part in Young Enterprise to provide business experience to young people and has also been an active member of local Chambers of Commerce including serving as President of the Weymouth Chamber of Commerce.
David has been diagnosed with Parkinson?s for over 10 years although under control with medication and remains fully active. David shares his life with his partner, William, with whom he entered into a civil partnership in 2006, and two Jack Russell dogs. David is also a Trustee of The Kithead Trust, a national educational charitable organisation dedicated to preserving archival material relating to the history and development of road passenger transport.
