Mayor's Charity

Each year the Mayor may either concentrate his/her efforts on just one charity or spread the effort and fund raising across a range of local charities.  

This year, Cllr Jill Hargreaves is raising funds for Farnham Assist.

Farnham Assist is a Christian organisation where Farnham's older people can enjoy a lunch, learn new computer skills, or simply get together with a volunteer for a cup of tea and a chat.  They hold a variety of activities throughout the year which include social events, craft afternoons, bus outings, Bible studies, Songs of Praise and Carol Services.

Cllr Jill Hargreaves says she "has a life-long desire to work for the well-being of older people.  I believe strongly that every person should be treated with dignity and compassion, regardless of age or infirmity.

I hope that many of you will assist me by supporting my efforts to improve the lives of the elderly community in Farnham."
