History of the Cemeteries

The Urban District Council was the Burial Authority for the four Farnham Cemeteries (Green Lane, West Street, Badshot Lea and Hale) until Waverley District Council took over in 1974.  Subsequently, Waverley Borough Council remained the Burial Authority until Farnham Town Council took over in 2003.   

Farnham Town Council, as the acting Burial Authority, is responsible for the burials which take place in the cemeteries, maintenance of the cemeteries and the upkeep of the cemetery records.
